St. Stephen's Hospital has been committed to educational programmes right from its inception. Established in 1908 and founded by Ms. Alice Wilkinson, a pioneer and co-author to the constitution of the Indian Nursing Council, we have one of the oldest Nursing Schools in the country. We have been training nurses since 1908 when we started training in the 'B' Grade nursing course. In 1952, we started the 'A' Grade Diploma course. In the year 2008, the School of Nursing was upgraded to a College of Nursing, and B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing was started in the month of August 2008. It is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and is duly recognised by the Indian Nursing Council and the Delhi Nursing Council with an intake of 50 students per year. M.Sc. Nursing started with 8 seats in 2017 and Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing started from 2019 with 20 seats. M.Sc. Nursing seats have been enhanced to 15 seats from 2022 onwards. All our courses are conducted as per the Indian Nursing Council syllabus. The medium of instruction is English. We have reservation of seats for Christian candidates in our courses as per our status as Christian Minority educational institution. Every year, we have been consistently securing ‘A’ Grade certification by the Joint Assessment Committee (JAC) of the Department of Higher Education Govt. of NCT of Delhi and also from State Fee Regulatory Committee (SFRC).
